Special Zoning Meeting 9/12 7pm

We are pleased to announce a SPECIAL Meeting to discuss  741 N 23rd St Rembrandt’s/Frankie Ann’s) on Thursday, September 12 from 7:00 at the City School. A continuance was granted at the August 21st ZBA meeting until October. This meeting will be in addition to our regularly scheduled FCA meeting to be held on September 26.  All neighbors are invited to attend to listen to the new plans that were presented at the ZBA hearing.  Unfortunately the revised plan did not give the FCA sufficient opportunity to present to the neighborhood. We expect the lawyers and owners to be in attendance to present and answer questions.  We also hope to enter into a “community agreement”. If you have any suggestions, please forward them to me at: or to Kellyann Beene at:

6th Annual Spring Cleanup 4/7/2018 9:30am – 12:30PM

Join the Fairmount Civic Association for our 6th annual Spring Cleanup, in conjunction with the Philly Spring Cleanup. Volunteers will meet at the playground at 22nd and Brown to receive supplies such as gloves, trash bags, and rakes. We will pick up trash, recyclables, and leaves. Circle Compost will collect all bagged leaves to donate to urban farms and gardens, and all are permitted to bring their food waste for a $10 donation that will also be made into compost. Proceeds will be split with the FCA’s Neighborhood Improvement Committee.
Even if you don’t live in Fairmount you can help—cleaning up one area prevents trash from going to others, especially with the Schuylkill River here. Participants will be offered discounted registration to the Summer 2018 AALL Outdoor Bocce League.
Last year, 210 bags of trash, recycling and yard waste collected by 120 volunteers. 31 bags of yard waste/leaves (pictured below) were collected and taken to Urbanstead to be composted by Circle Compost. Come take pride in your community and let’s keep this green tradition going strong!
