6th Annual Spring Cleanup 4/7/2018 9:30am – 12:30PM

Join the Fairmount Civic Association for our 6th annual Spring Cleanup, in conjunction with the Philly Spring Cleanup. Volunteers will meet at the playground at 22nd and Brown to receive supplies such as gloves, trash bags, and rakes. We will pick up trash, recyclables, and leaves. Circle Compost will collect all bagged leaves to donate to urban farms and gardens, and all are permitted to bring their food waste for a $10 donation that will also be made into compost. Proceeds will be split with the FCA’s Neighborhood Improvement Committee.
Even if you don’t live in Fairmount you can help—cleaning up one area prevents trash from going to others, especially with the Schuylkill River here. Participants will be offered discounted registration to the Summer 2018 AALL Outdoor Bocce League.
Last year, 210 bags of trash, recycling and yard waste collected by 120 volunteers. 31 bags of yard waste/leaves (pictured below) were collected and taken to Urbanstead to be composted by Circle Compost. Come take pride in your community and let’s keep this green tradition going strong!
